How can I apply to tolingo?

What documents should I include with my application?
For us, your cover letter and resume are the most important. You are welcome to include additional documents that make your application more compelling.
In what format should I submit my application documents? Is there a maximum file size to consider?
You can send us your documents as Word, Excel, or PDF files. Whether you combine all documents into one file or send them separately is up to you. Please ensure that your files do not exceed 25 MB in size.
What happens to my application after I submit it?
After you send your application via email, you will receive a confirmation email from us. If you do not receive this email, please check to ensure your application was successfully sent. Our HR department will then make an initial selection of candidates. All applications are treated confidentially. After the pre-selection process, we will get in touch with you. Applicants who meet the requirements for the position will be invited to a phone interview. All other applicants will receive a rejection email. A rejection is by no means a judgment or doubt about your abilities. Sometimes, only small details determine the final decision. Please understand that we cannot provide every applicant with a rejection detailing the reasons behind our decision. However, you are always welcome to contact our HR manager by phone to learn more about the reasons for our decision.
How do I know that my application has been received by tolingo?
As soon as your application is received by tolingo, a confirmation will be sent to the email address you provided. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please check your email account's spam filter and the size of your file attachment. Your documents should not exceed 25 MB.
What is the application process at tolingo?
The application process depends on the position to be filled. Typically, we first conduct a 20-minute phone interview with you, where we ask some follow-up questions about your application and motivation. After that, there are a maximum of two interviews with the management, human resources, and department heads. For some positions, a trial workday is also offered, allowing you to get to know your workplace and the team better.
How long does tolingo store my application and personal data?
We store the personal data you provide only for as long as the application process for the position is completed.
If you have applied spontaneously or if we are currently unable to offer you a specific position for other reasons, we will explicitly ask if we can store your data in our talent pool. If you agree to this procedure in writing (informally via email), your data will be stored for 6 months. After the 6-month period, you will need to give written consent again for further storage. Otherwise, your data will be deleted.
Who has access to the data I provide in my application?
Only the HR department of tolingo and individuals directly involved in the application and hiring process have access to your data.
I don’t have any professional experience in the translation industry yet. Is it still worth applying?
Career changers are always welcome at tolingo! What matters most is having a compelling personality that fits with us. We believe that people with a passion for languages can help tolingo thrive, even if they do not yet have industry experience. However, in specialized areas such as our in-house proofreading, knowledge and experience in the translation industry or a relevant academic background are essential to meet our high quality standards.
